News from research.
We turn research findings and company data into stories that journalists want to report. Accurate, easy to follow and worth reading.

Three ways we work.
-
Data journalism
We combine solid data with engaging storytelling. Together with our research partners we help you tell stories that are accurate, easy to understand and interesting to read.

Business consulting
KRAKUM introduces business owners who want to sell to qualified buyers from other countries, and helps buyers find businesses that are not listed anywhere. Discreet, prepared and personal.

Solid data, told well.
We stand at the intersection of data science and journalism. Research institutions and companies bring us datasets with a story inside; we bring the analysis, the writing and the newsroom contacts that get the story told.
Since 2026 we also work on the other side of the desk: helping owners sell a business, and helping buyers from other markets find one. The same habits apply. Facts first, plain language, and introductions that are prepared rather than cold.
- Data analysis and fact checking
- Story development and writing
- Journalist and newsroom outreach
- Search visibility and link building
- Business sale and acquisition introductions
Insights.
All insightsSelling a business to a buyer abroad: what they ask first
Buyers from another market ask different questions from local ones. Owners who prepare the answers early close faster and keep control of the conversation.
Data journalismWhat a newsroom wants from a research story in 2026
Smaller desks, more sources, less time. A research story gets picked up when it does the fact checker's job for them.
Research partnersFinding the story inside your own data: a checklist for research teams
Six questions we ask of every dataset before anyone writes a headline.
Questions we are asked.
What kind of data makes a good story?
Anything with a clear question behind it and a defensible method: survey results, usage data, pricing data, public datasets you have combined in a new way. We check the method before we write a word.
Do you place stories or only write them?
Both. We write the story, build the charts and tables, and pitch it to the journalists and newsrooms whose readers it fits. You see every draft before it goes out.
Which countries do you work in?
We are based in Berlin and work in English and German. Our journalist network and our consulting introductions cover Europe, the United Kingdom, North America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
How does the business consulting side work?
Confidentially. You tell us what you are selling or looking for, we prepare a short anonymous profile, and we only make an introduction once both sides have said yes.
